The Royal Couple: Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Claire Lademacher, Basilique Sainte Marie-Madeleine, Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume, France

This past weekend--on Saturday--Prince Felix of Luxembourg, who is second in line to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, got married to "commoner" Claire Lademacher--in a beautiful religious ceremony at Basilique Sainte Marie-Madeleine in Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume, France.

Engagement Kiss: Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Caire Lademacher

Prince Felix is the second son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg and second in line of succession. Claire--his bride--is a 28 year-old doctorate student who spent part of her youth in Atlanta. Her father is Hartmut Lademacher, a German telecoms millionaire. This helps if you are to live the rest of your life as a princess. Now, let's discuss her Wedding Couture:

Princess Claire: The bride wears Elie Saab Haute Couture Custom

The fairytale nuptials occurred this past Saturday, in front of 350 guests in a 13th
century church in the French town of Saint-Maxim-La-Sainte-Baum. The bride, and future Princess, Claire Lademacher, wore an ivory
silk Elie Saab Haute Cuture gown embroidered with Chantilly lace floral motifs and a
10-foot-long train...

The gown featured a neo-baroque
flower detail that continued through the length of her silk tulle veil. The future Princess Claire wore a glittering tiara to sit atop her glossy
brunette locks on her special day. It is believed that she wore the
Grand Ducal family's diamond floral tiara favored by Grand Duchess
Maria Teresa, her new Mother In-Law.

The Spanish tiara was a wedding present from the government to Queen
Sofia of Spain
. Originally, it was a Danish piece given to Queen Margrethe of Denmark by her parents Frederik and Ingrid. Claire wore low-heeled white shoes with a delicate ankle strap which
carried on the pretty floral theme and she carried a simple bouquet of
white blooms. A bun that sat at the nape of her neck finished off the elegant effect

Couture Guests:

Monaco Fab: Pierre Casiraghi (youngest son of Princess Caroline of Hanover) and his girlfriend Beatrice Borromeo--Basilique Sainte Marie-Madeleine,
Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume, France

Pierre Casiraghi attended with his girlfriend, the beautiful Beatrice Barromeo. Pierre is the younger son of Caroline of Monaco, Princess of Hanover, of course. Now, onto Beatrice: she looked fab in a nude-colored pant suit (I presume it's Armani and probably Armani Prive Custom). Beatrice's uncle used to be the director of Valentino.

Fascinator Fab: Beatrice Barromeo--Wedding of Prince Felix of Luxembourg

Beatrice  graduated from Columbia Journalism School and is a member of the ancient aristocratic House of
Borromeo, and well known in the Italian news media as an
outspoken television personality. One of her ancestors is an actual
saint, and in case that wasn't enough, her family owns a bunch of islands. She's a FAB Trust Funder with lots of style. At-a-Girl!

Mother-in-Law: Cuban-born Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg wore a fuchsia colored ensemble to her son, Prince Felix', wedding. EVERYTHING was fuchsia. From her hat to her pumps. I thought the A-line shape of the coat was flattering and I love that she stood out. As the Prince's mother...Hello: it's HER day too!

Mom and Grand Duke: Gabriele Lademacher, the Mother-of-the-Bride, and Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg (father of the Groom)--both looked dapper and very chic. I think Mrs. Lademacher was very modern in her choice of suit with its asymmetrical peplum jacket hemline, drop shoulder cap sleeves and wonderful tulle-veiled hat.

Blue Princess: Princess Sibilla and Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg with their son Prince Paul-Louis: Princess Sibilla married her "distant cousin" Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg who happens to be the son of Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte of Luxembourg.

Princess Isabelle Of Liechtenstein and Prince Philipp Of Liechtenstein: He is 10th in line of succession to the Liechtenstein, and his wife, is EVER-SO-FABULOUS! If there's any doubt, take a look at that hat!

Congratulations and Many Happy Years to Prince Felix and Princess Claire of Luxembourg!

ROYAL COUTURE....Royal Wedding of Prince Muhammad Ali of Egypt and Princess Noal Zaher of Afghanistan

Thursday, September 12, 2013

Royal Bride and Groom: Prince Muhammad Ali of Egypt and Princess Noal Zaher of Afghanistan--The bride wore an ivory gown with beaded applique and wide scooped neckline and three-quarter sleeves; she finished it off with a very delicate tiara and a tulle veil

A couple of weeks ago, on August 30th, Muhammad Ali Prince of the Sa'id and eldest son of ex-king
Fouad II of Egypt wed
Princess Noal Zaher, the daughter of Prince Muhammed Daoud Pashtunyar
Khan
, the youngest son of King Mohammed Zahir Shah. Muhammad (the groom) is sort of the "Crown Prince" of Egypt, if they would bring back the Monarchy, but that's not going to happen any time soon.

The Wedding took place in...

Çirağan Palace, a former Ottoman palace
that's now a luxury hotel directed by Kempinski in Istanbul where the
couple had first met

The couple announced their engagement back in April. Muhammad and Noal's union is unusual nowadays as the descendants of two
royal households rarely marry one another as this was far more common in
the past. The groom--Muhammad--was born in Cairo in 1979 and is the eldest son of
Fuad II, the last king of Egypt, giving him the title of Prince of
Sa'id. Muhammad's father only reigned for the first few months of his childhood until the
Egyptian Revolution in 1952, although his son remains the heir to the
currently abolished Muhammad Ali dynasty.

Of note: Princess Fawzia (above)--who was the Groom's Aunt and first wife of the Shah of Iran (she became Queen of Iran) passed away
last month (she was the senior of the family) and I'm quite shocked that
the wedding wasn't postponed in respect to her death, but oh well, as they say...

Today Prince Muhammad resides in Paris where he works in real estate. Princess Noal Zaher was born in 1980 in the Italian capital of Rome and
her father is Mohammed Daoud Khan Pachtounyar, the fifth son of the last
king of Afghanistan Zahir Shah and his queen, Homeira. Noal Zaher graduated from the famous French university Institut Saint-Dominique with a degree in European Business before specializing in jewellery design at Webster University in London.

Congratulations to the Happy Royal Couple!

ROYAL COUTURE.....Princess Mathilde of Belgium Duchess of Brabant, future Queen Consort of Belgium, a Fashion Gallery!

Monday, July 8, 2013

Future Queen: Princess Mathilde, Duchess of Brabant, Mathilde of Belgium

On July 21st, Belgium's King Albert II will abdicate. That means that his eldest son, Crown Prince and Heir Apparent Philippe Duke of Brabant, will become the new King of Belgium. His wife, Mathilde, Duchess of Brabant will officially be Queen Consort--in other words, wife of the King, thank you very much. Mathilde will, on July 21st, become the first ever Belgian born Queen consort of Belgium (what a new idea--a Belgium born person actually "ruling" over Belgium!). Her father-in-law--the King has been embroiled in a mess of a mistress and secret offspring and well...he may have seen the writings on the wall, as it were. It was time to big Adiue and Tot Ziens ("Good Bye" in French and Flemish) to the crown.

photocall at Laeken Castle on September  2012

The Princess--who is of Belgian and noble Polish descent--is a big fashionista. This, naturally is what I am interested in here on my NICKVERREOS.COM blog. She loves to give fashion at important events, royal weddings, etc.

Most recently, she wore this peplum belted and printed dress at a July 8th visit to Laeken Castle--(left to right) Queen Paola, King Albert, Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of

The future Queen consort LOVES a neckline "knot":

Her favorite designers of choice include Belgian fashion brand Natan and Armani Prive. Not "Giorgio Armani" darlings but it's Haute Couture branch! Giorgio Armani is too "for the regular people" of course. Yes kids, she loves--and can afford $100,000+ costing Haute Couture--she's a Euro Royal! So let's discuss Mathilde, the next Belgian Queen consort and her FASHION sense:

The Wedding: When Mathilde married Prince Philippe II of Belgium and became the Crown Princess of Belgium, she wore a white custom wedding gown with stand-up collar coat from Belgian Fashion House Natan and its designer Edouard Vermeulen...

Peplum and Twisted Natan--Princess Mathilde of Belgium (in Natan) and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands (top photo); Queen Maxima of The Netherlands in Natan design (similar to P rincess Mathilde's) at the Dutch Royal Abdication Signing-Over Ceremony

Mathilde of Belgium is a big fan of Natan and its designer Edouard Vermeulen and has worn many of his designs, besides her wedding. It is a sure thing that she will be wearing Natan for the July 21st abdication/coronation festivities. Here are some other times Mathilde has worn Natan:

Princess Mathilde in Natan white and navy printed dress--"Liege a Paris" Concert at the
Theatre des Champs-Elysees on October 2012, Paris, France

The future Queen Consort of Belgium also loves Armani Prive:
