Tuxedo Finale: Nick Verreos "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" Season Finale Fashion Show

For my last "Nick's Look's"/Mentor Style Blog --this post is all about the Season Finale Episode of Lifetime's "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" and what I wore. You can read my take on this final episode HERE. but this blog is all about my style. So many people have commented on how nice I looked so that is why I originally decided to do this. And also to give props to my huney--David Paul--who styled EVERY single outfit. Not out of vanity's sake but as a former working stylist/wardrobe costumer, he just wanted to make sure I wouldn't repeat outfits and be "style shamed". So..let's get to my outfits:

Day One: I wore a red jacket from H & M, a striped blue-and-white dress shirt from Zara and printed pocket scarf for the "Introduction Day"--"Project Runway: Under The Gunn" Season Finale

Day Two: I wore a gray striped jacket from Zara, a violet sweater from Zara, striped dress shirt from Bugatchi Uomo, purple and white striped bow tie, polka dotted purple pocket hankie, and black skinny pants from Zara. And yes, my favorite black YSL "Johnny Boots".

Finale Night: For the Finale, I went "black tie" and "fancy" with my very own black and white mini polka-dotted Dolce & Gabbana silk satin tuxedo jacket, tuxedo dress shirt from Ermenegildo Zegna, Marc Jacobs Collection tuxedo pants, pink and white polka dotted pocket scarf from Brooks Brothers, and patent leather black YSL "Johnny Boots" I got from Sui Generis San Francisco Consignment Boutique (a GREAT find!).

Printed Nick: Tim Gunn and Nick Verreos on Episode 12 "Superhero Fashion" Project Runway: Under The Gunn

Time for my "Nick's Looks" STYLE BLOG of what I wore during this past episode of Lifetime's Project Runway: Under The Gunn. In case you missed my "Nick's Take"/Inside Dish blog, you can click HERE for that. This past episode was all about designing a look inspired by a Marvel Comics Superhero.

And yes, in case you might have forgotten Tim Gunn was featured in a special edition of Marvel Comics with "Iron Man" about five years ago back in 2009.

For the "Introduction" of the challenge at the Meltdown Comics and Collectibles store, I wore my light blue dress shirt from H & M, black skinny pants from Zara, a printed jacket by Topman, and a lace pocket hankie and black bow tie from my dad--yes, my dad. Vintage 1960's from his days as a US State Department Foreign Service Officer.

Benefit Traveler: While on a filming break, I ventured into the Benefit Cosmetics "Pretty Room" and found this pink suitcase and pink "Captain's sailor hat". Naturally, I had to pose and take a photo.

Benefit Cosmetics Pretty Room--Project Runway: Under The Gunn

It was all too cheeky and screaming for me to make a photo-op out of it. If Benefit Cosmetics had an airline and they needed someone to play the Captain--or Flight Attendant--yep...it would be me!

Runway Day: Nick Verreos and Oscar Garcia-Lopez on Project Runway: Under The Gunn

For "Runway Day", I wore a bright blue velvet tuxedo jacket by Noose & Monkey, my skinny back trousers from Zara, white dress shirt from Topman, and printed silk pocket scarf from Etro. And my favorite black YSL Johnny Boots. Since this was the penultimate (pre-Finale) "Under The Gunn" Runway, I wanted to look nice for it--especially if I might be out. Who knows?

Nick and Marcus: I even got to take a photo with cutie Makeup artist Marcus who assisted in the "Benefit Cosmetics Pretty Room" with my blue velvet tuxedo jacket ensemble. Marcus was always so sweet and well, he could be my younger bearded brother--or sistah!

Hair Did:

Nick Verres and Oscar Garcia-Lopez--Episode 11 "The Benefit of Fashion" Challenge "Project Runway: Under The Gunn"

In this past week's episode of Lifetime's "Project Runway: Under The Gunn", it was the "Real Woman" Benefit Cosmetics Challenge. You can read my "Nick's Take"/Inside Dish on the episode HERE --yes, Oscar should have won and Tim Gunn is "trippin" (for a lack of a better word) in RE: to saying I was there Creative Director and that I FORCED the "Pageant Gown" on Dani Vierra, Oscar's client...but that's neither here nor there. This post is about my "Mentor Style":

Burlesque Purple: For the "Challenge Announcement", I wore one of my favorite purple suits--it's a purple colored sateen Topman suit with black satin shawl collar lapels. I wore it with my skinny black tie from Topman and my teal velvet "slippers" shoes from H & M.

The following day--for Runway--I wore my "midnight blue" shawl-collared tuxedo suit from H & M, my skinny pink tie from Calvin Klein and polka dotted Brooks Brothers pocket scarf. I also wore a pearl tie pin that was a gift from my Dad.

Midnight Blue...and PINK: Since by now, I knew that it was a "Benefit Cosmetics" Challenge, I realized the brand was "big" on the pink color...therefore I purposely wore my bright pink tie and pocket hankie. Those were my "wink-wink's" to Benefit in regards to how much I LOVED their cosmetics!

Nick-Mondo--During some "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" filming down-time, I had the chance to pose with my fellow mentor, Mondo Guerra in the fabulous Benefit Cosmetics "Pretty Room".

**Don't miss this week's Episode of "Project Runway: Under The Gunn"! It's all about Marvel Comics Superheros...And yes, this is the Penultimate Episode before NEXT WEEK'S FINALE!!!!

Mentor Style: (L to R) Nick Verreos, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Mondo Guerra--Episode 9 "Trouble in the Lounge" Lifetime Network's Project Runway: Under The Gunn

Time for my blog on "Nick's Looks"/Mentor Style Gallery for this past week's episode. In case you missed my "Nick's Take"/Inside Dish on this very drama-filled episode, click HERE. This post is about my fashion. I always get asked--or at least get tons of comments on my style on the show (mostly nice, Thank You!). My partner-for-life David Paul styled me when I was filming the entire show--he picked out all my outfits while going througgh my closet and setting everything on a rolling rack. If you think I am kidding, check this out:

Mentor Nick Wardrobe Central: Here's the rolling rack David arranged--and separated by "Workroom", "Runway/Judging", and so on...for my time filming on Lifetime Network's "Project Runway: Under The Gunn"

Now, time for my outfits on this last "Glade Challenge" Day-to-Evening episode:

They included this purple and white striped Tommy Hilfiger bow tie, striped dress shirt from Bugatchi Uomo and Zara gray blazer with black lapel/collar banding.

For Runway/Judging Day...

Day to EVENING Look: For the "Glade Challenge" Day-to-Evening Runway/Judging Day, I wore a vanilla collared "Dinner Jacket" with black shawl collar from ASOS, black tuxedo pants from the H & M Viktor & Rolf collaboration from several years ago, striped bow tie and Polka Dot pocket hankie, and my prized black YSL "Johnny Boots".

Nick and Oscar: Even though it was such a nasty episode in terms of the other mentors coming at me and the whole Natalia being bullied story, I'd like to remember this episode with this image above.

Don't Miss THIS WEEK'S "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" on Lifetime 9/8c  to see what happens next...and to see what my "Nick's Looks" are!

Mentor Style: (L to R) Mondo Guerra, Nick Verreos and Anya Ayoung-Chee--Episode 6 "Pompeii Team Challenge" Project Runway: Under The Gunn

Time for "Nick's Looks"--my weekly blog on my Mentor fashion. For this past week's Episode 6--we visited the beautiful Getty Villa/J. Paul Getty Museum in Pacific Palisades, where the designers had a challenge to create looks inspired by the Getty Villa and new film "Pompeii". On the morning of this episode, of course we had no idea where we were going, we were only told the night before that the Challenge introduction would not be at FIDM but instead "off site". We drove and drove until we arrived at the Getty Villa. It was a very windy and slightly cold (for Southern California standards) morning--as you can see from our coats/jackets above.

Thurston Nick III: I wore a vintage navy blue double breasted jacket I found in a thrift store ages ago, a Zara blue striped dress shirt with white French cuffs and collar, jeans, a Robert Talbott orange printed silk scarf and my Marc Jacobs cuff links. It was my "Thurston Howell III of Gilligan's Island" look, or at least that's how I made fun of myself. I should have also brought a swimsuit to go into that pool--but I'm sure I might have gotten kicked off the premises, only to be "black-listed" from the Getty Villa!

Twinsies: When we arrived at the Getty Villa, and waited and waited to begin filming, I noticed that two of the "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" designers--Sam Donovan (left) and Shan Keith Oliver (right) were almost identically dressed: khaki pants and jean jacket. I had to capture a pic of them! We asked them if they had planned this, and according to them, they had not (yeah right!).

The Following Day/Runway Day:

Checking In: Nick Verreos with designer Natalia Fedner, model Ashleigh and designers Stephanie Ohnmacht--Episode 6 "Pompeii Team Challenge" Project Runway: Under The Gunn

Runway/Judging Style: (L to R) Nick Verreos, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Mondo Guerra--Episode 6 "Pompeii Team Challenge" Project Runway: Under The Gunn

For judging/runway day, I wore an ASOS wine colored suit, Topman skinny tie, a scarf I made out of silk fabric that I had (from my dress line)...

Zara patent leather shoes and my favorite accessory, very colorful polka dot printed Jay McCarroll (Project Runway Season 1 Winner) socks!

Finally, for some "direct to camera" interviews, I wore a lime green sweater from Canadian brand Joe Fresh, a dark blue jacket from British designer Hardy Amies that once belonged to my uncle, and a red and green bow tie from Countess Mara

(L to R): Tim Gunn, Jen Rade, Zanna Roberts Rassi and Zendaya--Project Runway "Under The Gunn" Episode 5

For this past week's Project Runway "Under The Gunn" episode--as stressful as it was--I still found time to dress up.  The theme was "Make a Stage Look for Zendaya". In case you missed my "Nick's Take" on the episode, click HERE. This post is about my fashion/looks, of course.

Nick Workroom Check-In Style: For this first day--when the challenge was announced and the designers had to create their look for Zendaya, I wore a pink striped "seersucker"-style jacket from Topman, a blue dress shirt with white collar from U.S. Polo Assn., Zara jeans, and silk pocket scarf from Etro:

Etro Fab: silk printed pocket scarf from Etro

Benefit and Blow Pro "Under The Gunn" Pretty Room Contemplatin': Designer Asha Daniels and Nick Verreos--The following day, when it was time for the Makeup and Hair, as well as Runway/Judging, I wore...

Studded and striped: I wore one of my favorite jackets---a black stretch wool blazer with studded shawl collar/lapel from ASOS, white dress shirt from H&M, striped tie from Marc Jacobs and...
