Crystal Award: HBO's "Behind The Candelabra", Winner of Outstanding Costume Design for a Movie, Miniseries, Special

Last night were the 2013 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Traditionally, these Creative Arts Emmy Awards are held the weekend before the LIVE Primetime Emmy Awards. They are largely dedicated to key technical disciplines and
behind-the-scenes crafts essential to television production: art
direction, cinematography, hairstyling, makeup, music, picture editing,
sound editing and mixing, special visual effects, stunts and more.

Congrats Heidi and Tim: Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn won for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program--2013 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Ellen Mirojnick, Costume Designer for HBO's "Behind The Candelabra"--Ellen Mirojnick won for Outstanding Costume Design for a Movie, Miniseries, Special

Congratulations to Ellen! It was such a pleasure to have met her and to find out that she ONLY had FIVE weeks to design, and create, the costumes for "Behind The Candelabra". It is with special pleasure to have found out that she had won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Costume Design for a Movie, Miniseries, Special. Needless to say, I had a special kinship to all those sparkles--and the amazing craftsmanship of her designs!

This past Saturday--along with my partner David Paul--I had the privilege of attending the Opening Night party for the exhibition which was held in the Hope Park adjacent to the FIDM Downtown L.A. campus . The party featured lots of food and the beverage sponsors were Beaulieu Vineyard and Grey Goose Vodka so you know the guests were quite happy. But the real treats were the Costumes, of course. The exhibit features over 120 costumes from 15 shows including...
