Tuxedo Finale: Nick Verreos "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" Season Finale Fashion Show

For my last "Nick's Look's"/Mentor Style Blog --this post is all about the Season Finale Episode of Lifetime's "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" and what I wore. You can read my take on this final episode HERE. but this blog is all about my style. So many people have commented on how nice I looked so that is why I originally decided to do this. And also to give props to my huney--David Paul--who styled EVERY single outfit. Not out of vanity's sake but as a former working stylist/wardrobe costumer, he just wanted to make sure I wouldn't repeat outfits and be "style shamed". So..let's get to my outfits:

Day One: I wore a red jacket from H & M, a striped blue-and-white dress shirt from Zara and printed pocket scarf for the "Introduction Day"--"Project Runway: Under The Gunn" Season Finale

Day Two: I wore a gray striped jacket from Zara, a violet sweater from Zara, striped dress shirt from Bugatchi Uomo, purple and white striped bow tie, polka dotted purple pocket hankie, and black skinny pants from Zara. And yes, my favorite black YSL "Johnny Boots".

Finale Night: For the Finale, I went "black tie" and "fancy" with my very own black and white mini polka-dotted Dolce & Gabbana silk satin tuxedo jacket, tuxedo dress shirt from Ermenegildo Zegna, Marc Jacobs Collection tuxedo pants, pink and white polka dotted pocket scarf from Brooks Brothers, and patent leather black YSL "Johnny Boots" I got from Sui Generis San Francisco Consignment Boutique (a GREAT find!).

Thank You to David for coming up with looks for EVERY SINGLE day of my "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" filming! In honor of him, here's his fabulous Season Finale Look:

Printed Nick: Tim Gunn and Nick Verreos on Episode 12 "Superhero Fashion" Project Runway: Under The Gunn

Time for my "Nick's Looks" STYLE BLOG of what I wore during this past episode of Lifetime's Project Runway: Under The Gunn. In case you missed my "Nick's Take"/Inside Dish blog, you can click HERE for that. This past episode was all about designing a look inspired by a Marvel Comics Superhero.

And yes, in case you might have forgotten Tim Gunn was featured in a special edition of Marvel Comics with "Iron Man" about five years ago back in 2009.

For the "Introduction" of the challenge at the Meltdown Comics and Collectibles store, I wore my light blue dress shirt from H & M, black skinny pants from Zara, a printed jacket by Topman, and a lace pocket hankie and black bow tie from my dad--yes, my dad. Vintage 1960's from his days as a US State Department Foreign Service Officer.

Benefit Traveler: While on a filming break, I ventured into the Benefit Cosmetics "Pretty Room" and found this pink suitcase and pink "Captain's sailor hat". Naturally, I had to pose and take a photo.

Benefit Cosmetics Pretty Room--Project Runway: Under The Gunn

It was all too cheeky and screaming for me to make a photo-op out of it. If Benefit Cosmetics had an airline and they needed someone to play the Captain--or Flight Attendant--yep...it would be me!

Runway Day: Nick Verreos and Oscar Garcia-Lopez on Project Runway: Under The Gunn

For "Runway Day", I wore a bright blue velvet tuxedo jacket by Noose & Monkey, my skinny back trousers from Zara, white dress shirt from Topman, and printed silk pocket scarf from Etro. And my favorite black YSL Johnny Boots. Since this was the penultimate (pre-Finale) "Under The Gunn" Runway, I wanted to look nice for it--especially if I might be out. Who knows?

Nick and Marcus: I even got to take a photo with cutie Makeup artist Marcus who assisted in the "Benefit Cosmetics Pretty Room" with my blue velvet tuxedo jacket ensemble. Marcus was always so sweet and well, he could be my younger bearded brother--or sistah!

Hair Did:

Gregory Patterson and his Blopro hair team work this model's hair...she was Sam's model and eventually it was going to look like this:

Nick Verres and Oscar Garcia-Lopez--Episode 11 "The Benefit of Fashion" Challenge "Project Runway: Under The Gunn"

In this past week's episode of Lifetime's "Project Runway: Under The Gunn", it was the "Real Woman" Benefit Cosmetics Challenge. You can read my "Nick's Take"/Inside Dish on the episode HERE --yes, Oscar should have won and Tim Gunn is "trippin" (for a lack of a better word) in RE: to saying I was there Creative Director and that I FORCED the "Pageant Gown" on Dani Vierra, Oscar's client...but that's neither here nor there. This post is about my "Mentor Style":

Burlesque Purple: For the "Challenge Announcement", I wore one of my favorite purple suits--it's a purple colored sateen Topman suit with black satin shawl collar lapels. I wore it with my skinny black tie from Topman and my teal velvet "slippers" shoes from H & M.

The following day--for Runway--I wore my "midnight blue" shawl-collared tuxedo suit from H & M, my skinny pink tie from Calvin Klein and polka dotted Brooks Brothers pocket scarf. I also wore a pearl tie pin that was a gift from my Dad.

Midnight Blue...and PINK: Since by now, I knew that it was a "Benefit Cosmetics" Challenge, I realized the brand was "big" on the pink color...therefore I purposely wore my bright pink tie and pocket hankie. Those were my "wink-wink's" to Benefit in regards to how much I LOVED their cosmetics!

Nick-Mondo--During some "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" filming down-time, I had the chance to pose with my fellow mentor, Mondo Guerra in the fabulous Benefit Cosmetics "Pretty Room".

**Don't miss this week's Episode of "Project Runway: Under The Gunn"! It's all about Marvel Comics Superheros...And yes, this is the Penultimate Episode before NEXT WEEK'S FINALE!!!!

Double Breasting It: Nick Verreos in last week's Episode 10 "Crossing Teams" Francesca's Challenge, Manhattan Village Mall, Manhattan Beach CA

Time for my weekly BLOG on the STYLE and FASHION I've been wearing on Lifetime Network's Project Runway: Under The Gunn...my "Nick's Looks". All styled by my partner-in-NIKOLAKI-fashion crime, David Paul. The Challenge as you may know, was for the designers (paired up) to create three Spring 2014 looks that would work together as a group for Francesca's Collections, the show's retail sponsor. In case you missed my "Nick's Take"/Inside Dish on the episode, go HERE.

For the day of the challenge introduction and workroom critiques, I wore one of my prized double breasted jackets that I found at my FAVORITE "Consignment Couture" boutique, Sui Generis Consignment San Francisco. It's a Martin Margiela wool blazer. I also wore an H&M orange gingham dress shirt, my skinny jeans, Wingtip Clothiers camel colored loafers and orange-and-purple printed Etro silk pocket scarf.

Margiela Inside: Here's the inside of my jacket with label and pressing instructions, as well as "Replica" label

Nick Verreos and Oscar Garcia-Lopez during the Episode 10 "Runway": For the following day (Runway/Judging Day): I decided to go "peacock blue". I thought since it was a "Spring Fashion" challenge, maybe I should go "Spring-like" and colorful.

My blue jacket is from Topman, my striped blue-and-white dress shirt is from Bugatchi Uomo and my silk pocket hankie: Etro, of course (I own about 25 of these fabulous Etro pocket scarves!)

Model Cute:

Flower Girls: "Project Runway; Under the Gunn" models Ana Cristina (Wilhemina) (top photo and above, right) and Meredith Hennessy (Two Management) (above, left)--Episode 10 "Crossing Teams" Francesca's Challenge

During the episode and the many, many hours of downtime, I took some pics of a couple of the "Project Runway: Under The Gunn" models, mainly because I just loved how cute they looked in their own clothes and after they had gone through the "Under The Gunn" Pretty Room and gotten their hair done by the Blow Pro team (love the "Flower Power" hair accessories!) and PERFECT makeup from Benefit Cosmetics. Soooo cute!
