I was soooo excited to see Dutch-born NY-based model Manon Krol on Lifetime Network's "Season 3 Project Runway All Stars" for many reasons....First of all, she's GORGEOUS! And most of all, because for the last year, I have used her as my "muse" for my NV Nick Verreos Contemporary Dress line that I launched at Dillard's and Lord & Taylor during Summer 2013. She is not only super beautiful but oh-so-sweet! And yeah, she's 6 feet tall and has a superhuman body! Last night, Manon wore the winning look from designer Viktor Luna and I wish her all the best on "Project Runway All Stars Season 3"!

FASHION FRIDAY Spring/Summer 2013 Trend Alert: Abstract Florals...Just in time for Spring and the Memorial Day Weekend, it's all about easy-breezy floral-printed dresses. But these aren't just your typical florals, for Spring/Summer 2013, they're mostly "abstract", not so literal perhaps. Some designers showed bolder, bright florals:

I'm often asked "How do designers start a trend and all choose the same color or style?!" I honestly don't know. Yes, there are many trend reports that forecast what will be the "hottest" and "top" trends for the coming seasons, but I tend to go with my instincts.

I've incorporated some of my Grecian draping aesthetic, bold color and yes, even a little bit of embellishment. I also reproduced some of my NIKOLAKI red carpet "hits" such as the "Heidi Dress"--a black jersey and faux leather one-shoulder dress style that Heidi Klum wore on the Conan O'Brien Show. We shot the Look Book recently in NYC and used the most GORGEOUS model named Manon Krol--she's Dutch and SO sweet! I also shot some fun videos with model Lexi Aiosa, she was also FAB (like a "mini Sofia Vergara"!).
