La Mas Bella: Miss Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2014/Miss Universe El Salvador 2014 Patricia Murillo
Last week on May 2nd, a new Salvadorean Beauty Queen was crowned: the 2014 Nuestra Belleza El Salvador Beauty Pageant occurred. The Top Two winners of this contest got the crowns--and chances--to represent their nation of El Salvador at the "Miss Universe" and "Miss World" pageants. The Top Winner was 21 year-old Claudia Patricia Murrillo. She is 1. 76 M (5' 9 1/2") tall and is a model.

The Evening Gowns:
Winning Gown: Patricia Murillo during the Miss Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2014 Evening Gown Competition
Patricia Murrillo: Patricia wore a silver and lilac colored gown with plunging neckline, lace/applique over iridescent organza designed by Monica Arguedas. I liked this gown. It wasn't extraordinary in its design necessarily but it was "Pageant Right". Her up-do was great in terms of a hairstyle and lack of accessories save for those drop earrings, was just right.
Larissa Vega: Larissa, who got the "Miss World El Salvador" title, wore a white gown with ruched midriff, sheer long sleeves and silver sequin detail--it was designed by Lemor Design. The entire look was a bit "Mother-of-the-Bride and aged Larissa--especially that hairstyle.
Other Contestants:
Rocio Romano: Rocio wore a nude and silver sequined gown from Jose Dominguez DJ Couture. The gown fit her well and was the perfect length (Thank You!). I just have a problem with her side-swept hairstyle; so 1997 Prom. Can we do something more modern and "red carpet". Por Favor??!!!
Sofia Trigueros: Sofia wore a deep violet fit-to-flare gown designed by Jose Dominguez DJ Couture. The gown featured a sequined lace over netting overlay top and crepe skirt. This was nice but very "Pageant Betty"; it did not help that she accessorized it with those big ol' earrings and then styled it with that swept up-do.
Lisette Hernandez: Lisette also wore a gown designed by Jose Dominguez DJ Couture. This style was more on the "Mermaid" side; it was a lemon yellow colored satin strapless gown with sequined applique. Several things: this gown is very safe in terms of Pageants: been there/done that. Also, it looks a bit too polyester-y. SILK. Kids, please use silk. But then, there's that hair and earrings styling. It is soooo 1994 Prom-and-Pageant.
Roxanna Murillo: Roxanna wore a printed metallic gown with drop-shoulder and plunging neckline detail--and side front slit (of course). Oh, and then, there's a waist tie ribbon. The gown was created and designed by Monica Arguedas. The plunging neckline AND high side slit is a bit too mucheey. Plus, that hair style is so ageing and 1987 old-school Prom.
Yanira Interiano: Oh Yanira...what Las Vegas Stripper Beauty Contest are you going to? Yanira wore a Lemor Design red sequined gown with a Sweetheart neckline, nude illusion mesh top, sleeves and midriff...and very high side slit. The whole look is very "Dinner Theater/Pageant Strip Show in Nevada". Needless to say, this is a little "Chonchee" for my taste.
Congrats and Felicitaciones to Patricia (L) and Larissa (R)...the new Miss El Salvador International Beauties for Miss Universe and Miss World! Buena Suerte!
