Blooming Canary Yellow: Giambattista Valli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2013/2014
The Look: Designer Giambattista Valli loves a flower motiff. And this Haute Couture collection was no exception. Even though it is supposed to be Fall/Winter, this collection looked VERY Spring/Summer; in terms of its colors, the flower theme, the silhouettes and lack of MINK, wool, and anything else associated with the words "Fall" and "Winter". But, at the same time, if you are a Valli Couture client and can afford a $50,000 cocktail dress for your next Royal Wedding Guest invitation...then, who cares?
Capodimonte and Meissen flower porcelain
This Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Giambattista Valli Haute Couture collection was inspired by porcelain--particularly the ones from Capidimonte, Meissen and Wedgwood. The dresses--not one pant in sight--were a Crillon Debutante's Dream; lots of short puffy and pleated skirt dresses and gowns to make a multimillionaire's very young girlfriend--or red carpet actress--blush with excitement.
