Last Thursday, as part of the FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Debut 2014, I had the chance to be at the annual FIDM Debut Fashion Club Party. The Party is set up in a big tent adjacent to Santa Monica's Barker Hangar, the location of the FIDM Debut fashion show. The Fashion Club Party organizers set up a "Celebrity Corner" (how honored!), in the tent where party guests had the chance to take photos with me which would then be printed and given to them...to take home as a fun "souvenir". The day after the 2014 Academy Awards--this past Monday--I had the pleasure of filming a LIVE segment for Azteca America (Spanish Language TV), where I was brought on as the "Red Carpet/Alfombra Roja" expert to discuss the Best and "Uh Oh" of the Oscars Red Carpet for their Morning Talk Show titled "El Coffee Break".

Show Discussing Ladies Figure Skating Costumes

Last week, the day of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics Ladies Short Program, I was invited back on NBCOlympics.com streaming show "Olympic Ice", where all things Figure Skating are discussed. The hosts are 2002 Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughes and Russ Thaler, sports anchor and commentator. I had filmed a segment days before with them--via SKYPE--commentating on the Figure Skating Costumes that we had seen so far into the competitions, so I was honored to be back on.

 Polina Edmunds and her lemon yellow SP costume--I loved this costume for all its intricate detail, paneled front torso and how her hair had a very on-trend braid--with sequins of course!

 Ashley Wagner and this black with lots of silver sequins SP costume featuring a "diamond" necklace style around the neckline.

 Gracie Gold and this red sweetheart neckline off-the-shoulder SP costume with sequined accents.

Nick Verreos Skypes in on NBC.com "Olympic Ice" show, discussing Figure Skating Fashion with hosts Sarah Hughes and Russ Thaler

Last night were the Ice Dance Finals at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. If you've been keeping up on my blog here and especially anything "ICE STYLE", you know I'm a big fan of figure skating and love to talk about the costumes, especially, since fashion is my forte, as opposed to actual figure skating.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being invited on an NBC.com online show "Olympic Ice" as part of all the NBC Olympics streaming channels, to discuss the Ice Dance costumes and some of my favorite and not-so favorite figure skating costumes so far. This is my 3rd time appearing on Olympic Ice! I have been part of the show for the Torino 2006 Olympics, Vancouver 2010 Olympics and now the Sochi 2014 Olympics! In fact, back in 2006 I actually was flown to Torino, Italy to be part of the show and it was my very first media appearance post-Project Runway. So, I definitely have a special place in my heart for the show.

This season, the show is hosted by 2002 Olympic gold medalist Sarah Hughes (Love her!) and Russ Thaler, host of NBC SportsTalk (and a sharp dresser!). The "Olympic Ice" studios are in Connecticut and I am in Los Angeles so therefore I Skyped in for my "appearance". Some of the costumes I talked about were...

2014 Olympic gold medalists Meryl David and Charlie White of the U.S., silver medalists from Canada Virtue and Moir and the "Shib Sibs" (Maia and Alex Shibutani of the U.S.)...I also discussed this boy on the right, Misha Ge of Uzbekistan (naturally!)

I am very excited to officially announce my participation as a Mentor in this fabulous new Tim Gunn-hosted series...Here's all the DISH from THR/The Hollywood Reporter:

Lifetime Orders Tim Gunn-Hosted Fashion Series

"Under the Gunn" will debut in January and feature "Project
Runway" favorites Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Nick Verreos.

Lifetime is expanding its fashion empire.

The female-skewing cable network has picked up Under the Gunn, a new fashion competition series hosted by Emmy winner Tim Gunn.

The series, which will premiere Jan. 16 at 9 p.m., will feature Project Runway alums Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Nick Verreos
mentoring and managing a fashion empire with 15 up-and-coming
designers. Each of the three mentors will have a team of designers to
manage, coach, cheerlead and nurture with tough love.

Last year, I had the opportunity to judge one of the most FABULOUS competitions in Las Vegas: The Battle of The Strands. In case you are not aware, the Battle of The Strands is a hair, makeup, and wardrobe competition, but more than that, it is one GREAT show! B.O.T. S. showcases original
avant-garde looks from salon teams across the country before a panel of industry icon
judges. Now in it’s third season, the contest has gone international, welcoming teams from Mexico, Panama and Puerto
Rico among others.

Battle of The Strands 2013

I have been invited to judge once again this wonderful competition in Las Vegas and the Finals are TONIGHT. I cannot wait to see what this year's finalists have to offer. If last year's competition is a hint, it's going to be AMAZING!
