Cincinnati Smiles: Nick Verreos with models Tana Stalcup, Brock Maitland and Katy Popplewell from Heyman Talent Artists Agency--FOX19 News Cincinnati Ohio

This past weekend I flew to Cincinnati Ohio to host another one of my fun Macy's "Five Spring Essentials" fashion show events at the Kenwood Towne Centre. I've had the pleasure of hosting two other events so far---in Indianapolis and Memphis which were a blast so I was excited to make sure this one was going to be just as good!

Nick Verreos and Melissa Scalia of TheStyleEye.com

The day of my event began with a Morning News TV Show appearance at FOX19 Cincinnati. I was picked up by the ever-so-lovely Melissa Scalia, who was my Cincinnati Girlfriend/Press Handler/Unofficial Event Photographer/Morning News TV Show On-Set Stylist...and she was even my Starbucks-fix provider. Melissa has a great website called TheStyleEye and does some TV Hosting herself, as well as all things Fashion in Cincinnati and beyond.

FOX 19 News Saturday:

I was scheduled to do a fun fashion segment--with three models--showing some of the "Five Spring Essentials" that I would be later showcasing at the fashion show event at the Macy's Kenwood Towne Center. Joining me on the segment was FOX19 news anchor, Jessica Brown :

FOX 19 Anchor Jessica Brown and Nick Verreos--FOX19 Cincinnati

I had such a blast with Jessica. First of all, she was GORGEOUS--she looked like a "Miss USA" in a FAB mocha shawl-collared wrap dress that fit her perfectly! We had a great segment, showing all the fashions and describing why every woman should have these new Spring Fashion Trends in their closet--from Lace to Printed Pants to the Peplum. I also made sure to insert some of my fun "Nick-isms". I think we had WAAAY to much fun for a four minute segment because EVERYONE in the studio--the cameramen, the other anchor, the sound guy--they were all laughing hysterically after we finished the segment. Scroll to the end of this post for VIDEO!!

Macy's Five Spring Essentials Fashion Show Event--Kenwood Towne Centre Cincinnati:

After my Morning News Show appearance, I was off to the Kenwood Towne Centre to get ready for my "Macy's Five Spring Essentials" hosting duties...

Green Room Goodies--Cheese and fruit plate ready for me to munch on while I reviewed all my fashion note cards--Macy's Kenwood Towne Centre

Principal Nick Announces All Fashion Students to Head to Class--I asked the Macy's Store Execs if it was OK for me to make some announcements about the event prior to it and of course they said "Yes please!". I am used to just being handed a phone, pressing *7 (or something to that effect), but, boy was I surprised when they pointed to a big ol' microphone, the kind you would see in high school's when the Principal would make announcements. I felt like Principal McGee in the movie "Grease"!

Finally, it was time for my event:

Nick Finale--Doing my "Nick Runway Walk" for the audience, and to the delight of the models in the back

Post-show Meet and Greet: After the event, I had a chance for a fun post-show "Meet-and-Greet" with all the attendees--here are some pics from that...

I was especially excited when I saw the sister of an old college friend of mine who lives in Cincinnati--Linda Castaneda (above photo). She works in the Cat Ambassador Program with Cheetahs at the world-famous Cincinnati Zoo, and she also writes these wonderful blogs on all her travels and exciting Cheetah adventures. She was so sweet, staying on the entire day after the event, keeping me company until I had to go catch my flight back home to LA.

Once again, it was a very fun--and a very successful "Five Spring Essentials" fashion event at Macy's. I noticed A LOT of the women who were at my event--shopping and BUYING some of the clothes I had just been showing at the fashion show, which I guess is a VERY GOOD THING! Thanks Cincinnati for EVERYTHING! I can't wait to return sometime soon!

NICK APPEARANCES.....Macy's Memphis Wolfchase Galleria Five Spring Essentials Fashion Show!

Monday, April 8, 2013

Nick Verreos and his "Memphis Belles", his models for the Macy's "Five Spring Essentials" fashion show, Macy's Wolfchase Galleria Memphis Tennessee

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting my second "Five Spring Essentials" fashion show for Macy's. Last month I was in Indianapolis and this time, I went to Memphis Tennessee! Before you even ask, I didn't really get to see much of Memphis since these trips for me are very in-and-out so no tours of Graceland this time. I flew in on Friday--arrived at around 10PM on Friday night--then checked into my hotel, walked across the street to have a late dinner at The Fox and Hound Bar & Grill. They're open until late thank goodness--and they were PACKED since it was a Friday night and everyone was watching basketball--except me--Oh, and for some reason, you can still smoke there...I felt like I was in Las Vegas!

The following day, I got ready to host the fun Macy's event and fashion show at the Wolfchase Galleria. The "Five Spring Essentials" fashion shows/events are a way to showcase the newest trends and looks for Spring 2013 at Macy's and give "Style Bullet Points" to the audience of items they should have in their closet to update their wardrobe and be on trend.

Nick Verreos Hosts Macy's Wolfchase Galleria Memphis "Five Spring Essentials" fashion show

I was very excited about hosting at the Macy's Wolfchase Galleria, especially once I found out that the fashion show/stage would be set up IN THE MALL itself, right at the Ground Floor entrance to Macy's. Usually these events are held inside the stores themselves--within one of the departments--but for this one, I would be right in the shopping center--for EVERYONE to see.

The Fashion Show:

For the Macy's  "Five Spring Essentials" fashion show--which was styled by the wonderful Robin Overman (I've worked with her before on other Macy's events and she's always FABULOUS, and great to work with!), I showed various Spring 2013 trends on beautiful models from the Colors Talent Agency of Memphis. The trends included Lace, Collector's Jackets, Pullovers, Palazzo Pants, Studded Wedges (shoes), Bright Colors/Neon and printed denim. Here are some more pics of the fashion show and outfits shown:

Cruise Ship Weekend: Lace shorts, coral denim jacket, printed georgette top and stacked wedges--Macy's Five Spring Essentials fashion show, Macy's Wolfchase Galleria

Fashionista Sport: Printed bustier top, "dolphin"-style running shorts with printed binding, neon pink pullover, Nike's and fabulous sunglasses--Macy's Five Spring Essentials fashion show, Macy's Wolfchase Galleria

Shopping With The Girlfriends: gray linen pants, textured t-shirt, metallic sandals and printed shoulder bag--Macy's Five Spring Essentials fashion show, Macy's Wolfchase Galleria

The "Miss" Pose--One of the models was a former "Miss Tennessee USA" (!), the gorgeous Angela Johnson, "Miss Tennessee USA 1991". Now, you know I LOVE me some beauty pageants and beauty pageant girls so I was beyond excited to grab Miss Angela and ask her to "Strike a Pageant Pose" with me right there on the runway stage. Needless to say, we did it in 1.2 seconds!

Post Show Meet-and-Greet:

Backstage Princesses--Nick Verreos with Stylist Robin Overman (next to me, 4th from the right)  and all the wonderful--and hard-working dressers, steamers, double-stick tapers

Memphis Goodies--Dinstuhl's Chocolate and Candy Goody Basket

Once I was done, I was "escorted" to my Green Room where to my AMAZEMENT, the Macy's Wolfchase Galleria store manager, Ruth Lofton, had gotten me a Goodie Basket from Dinstuhl's--a Memphis Tennessee Landmark that specializes in delicious chocolates and candies since 1902. I almost started doing the "Pageant Hands-covering-the-mouth" OMG when she gave that beautiful basket to me as a "Thank You". And with that, I had to say Good Bye to my short time in Memphis and catch my flight back to LA. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the ENTIRE basket fit in my carry-on! Yeayyyyy!!!!

This past weekend, I had the chance to fly to Indianapolis Indiana to host a fun Macy's event, the "Five Spring Essentials" Fashion Show. The morning of the event, I had been scheduled to do the Fox59 Indianapolis "Indiana's 4" TV Morning News promoting the event at Macy's Castleton and showing some of the looks--on live models--during the segment anchored by Zach Myers of Fox59. Nick Meet-and-Greet: After the event and fashion show, I had a chance to do a Meet-and-Greet with the fab attendees. I had so much fun meeting everyone who came out to the event and I was happy to sign and take lots of photos...

My Barbie!!! Yes, one of the fabulous attendees brought my "Project Runway MyScene Barbie" that was created after I won the "Barbie Challenge" on my season of Project Runway. I was OVER THE BARBIE MOON when I saw it! It was a perfect ending to such a fun time in Indianapolis and hosting the Macy's Castleton "Five Spring Essentials" Fashion Show event.
